Product Description:
The VCAS0006-0099-00A is a 10-mm-stroke rectangular voice coil motor that achieves an excellent balance between thrust and stroke. With a peak thrust of 6.1 N and a continuous thrust of 3.2 N, this rectangular linear voice coil motor is ideal for pick-and-place heads, high-speed sorting, and small-part transport systems.
Measuring just 33.5 mm in length, this rectangular linear voice coil motor can be installed in compact multi-head assembly machines. The 18.2 g moving coil mass ensures high acceleration during short-stroke motion, thereby enhancing production efficiency. The maximum voltage of 13.7 V simplifies the drive electronics, while the back-EMF of 4.6 V/m/s provides predictable speed control.
Unlike rotary motors that use cam or link mechanisms, the VCAS series generates direct linear thrust, reducing mechanical complexity and minimizing points of failure. Its rectangular design is specifically tailored for XY stages, where minimizing height is critical but longer strokes than those of cylinders are required.
In the field of electronics assembly, surface-mount device (SMD) pick-and-place heads require vertical motion that is both gentle and fast. This actuator can be used as a Z-axis lifter or a nozzle shifter. Since voice coil motors have no friction or backlash, the repeatability of part placement is significantly improved.
